The Cotxeres Borrell Civic Center hosted the event “Poetry, Music and Kathak” organized by the Urdu Academy, Hafiz Ahmed and Arshad Nazir Sahil. A poetry recital in Urdu (the language of Pakistan) with the participation of numerous poets residing in Catalonia and other international poets such as Jawad Sheikh and Adnan Mohsin, guests of honour. The musical part began with the wonderful voice of Dr. Rajnandini Chauhan who performed some ghazals (lyrical poetry), accompanied by Chaitanya Natu on tabla and Claudia Madhurima on violin. The final point of this beautiful cultural afternoon came from the hand of Núria Cabo who filled the stage of Cotxeres Borrell with magic with a spectacular display of Kathak Sufi dance. Both Dr. Rajnandini Chauhan and Núria Cabo are members of the Women’s Committee of the Indian Culture Center and for a few years have been dedicated to disseminating Indian culture through their art.
