Indian Culture Center celebrated the 70th Independence Day of India at the Meeting Point of calle Creu Coberta, Barcelona. The venue “MEETING POINT” provided by the Association of Merchants to celebrate the institutional event of India. The event began with the interpretation of the National Anthem of India in which the number of audience participated, about 150 people, and continued with the reading the summary of the speech of the Prime Minister Sr Narendra Modi. Then poetry and patriotic songs filled the stage of Meeting Point. Then, the guests of honor addressed congratulatory words to the members of the Indian community of Catalonia. Ms. Lola López Commissioner of Immigration of Barcelona. Mr. Mario Soria; Representative of the ANC, Èric Bertran; Responsible for the relationship between entitats i d’immigració del Partit Demócrata Català, i Alfred Bosch; President of the Municipal d’Esquerra Republicana group to l’Ajuntament de Barcelona.
Finally, Mr. Robert Masih Nahar, Senator for Barcelona in Madrid, thanked the audience for the event and congratulated the members of the Indian Culture Center for their work in organizing the different events and activities that the association carries out and highlighted that these events foster relationships, not only among Indian families, but also offer the opportunity to all those interested in learning about aspects of other cultures offered by the city of Barcelona and that make possible the social cohesion.
