Members of the Indian Culture Center participate in the commemoration of the International Mother Language Day, organized by the Bangladesh community in Barcelona. The ceremony, held in the Plaza del Pedro, began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs murdered on February 21, 1952, then a floral offering was made on the commemorative plaque dedicated to the martyrs. International Mother Language Day was proclaimed by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in November 1999 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity anywhere in the world.
