Indian Independence Day Celebration hosted by Indian Culture Center. The event was held at the Meeting Point at Creu Coberta in Barcelona and was attended by honorable guests with the representatives of the Indian Embassy in Spain, Ms. Jeeva Maria Joy and Mr. Manoj K. Kapur and Dra. Sarika Mehta and Ms. Rutali Patel, representatives of ‘Biking Queens’, coinciding with their passage through Barcelona. After the traditional oil lamp was lit and the Indian national anthem was played. The cultural part of the event started with a sample of several representative dances from different parts of India by Nritya Dhwani, director of dance groups Bharatanatyam, Bharatanatyam Jr, Folk and Bollywood, and Carolina Rubio, representing the Güngur Arts Association with an Odyssey dance sample, and as director of Dakini Dance and Diwanis, who offered a selection of dances Bollywood. Then Dr. Sarika Mehta, founder of Biking Queens “explained that the goal of the “Ride for Women’s Pride” is to create social awareness and to tell women that each of them can, it’s just a matter of doing first step. “The motorcycle expedition of these brave women began on June 5 in Benares and will end in London on August 26, after traveling 25,000 km, through 25 countries, on three continents. At the end, the certificates were given to the students of dance and Spanish language of the 2018/19 course of Indian Culture Center.
