Indian Culture Center participates together with the Pakistani Workers Association and the Bangladesh Women’s Association in “Mela, Sant Antoni Festival”, organized by Òmnium Eixample. Fusion of cultures between Catalonia, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh through different activities in which the whole family has been able to participate. The event began with dance with the young women of the Bangladesh Women’s Association. Indian Culture Center participated with a sample of different dances from India with groups such as Shiva Grup, bollywood dance and dandiya (ball de bastons similar to the Catalan ball de bastons) and Kathak Fusion students from Leonor and Raquel – Bollywood. The public could also participate in the party dancing in the Bollywood dance workshop by Montse Bayo, a member of the BollyKaos group. The cultural activities ended with a demonstration of Castells by the Colla Castellera Esquerdats. As a final point to the intercultural meeting, gastronomy could be enjoyed with dishes from the different participating countries.
