Mother Language Day 2023

Representatives of the Indian Culture Center participate in the Mother Language Day commemoration, organized by the Consulate of Bangladesh in Barcelona. The ceremony, held in Plaza del Pedró, began with a floral offering in memory of the martyrs murdered on February 21, 1952, followed by a drawing contest in which the smallest members of the community participated, poems in the Bangla language and to end musical performances. Mother Language Day was proclaimed by the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in November 1999 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity anywhere in the world.
