The talk “Crossed Roots: The Story of a Life Between Cultures,” organized by the Indian Culture Centre Foundation and the Sant Antoni Community Table, was held today at the Espai Veïnal de Calàbria 66. The event, part of Sant Jordi week, focused on the book “Los Mundos de Kaur” (The Worlds of Kaur), by author Manu Kaur. Marc Folch, coordinator of the Community Table, acted as presenter. Both discussed various chapters of the book to delve deeper into the challenges and experiences of growing up between two cultures, as is the case with the author.
The audience had the opportunity to ask questions and resolve doubts about the customs and traditions of Punjab (India), the birthplace of Manu Kaur’s family. The day concluded with a book signing by the author and a tasting of traditional chai (Indian spiced tea), which served as a meeting place for residents of the neighborhood and members of the Indian community participating in the event.
