Today, January 26, we celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India, the first celebration organized by the new Consulate General in Barcelona and which brought together numerous families residing in Catalonia. After the traditional flag-raising ceremony, the Consul General Mr. Inbasekar Sundaramurthi welcomed and congratulated the Senator, Mr. Robert Masih Nahar, who had recently arrived from India after receiving the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award granted by the government of India. This award is the highest honor for overseas Indians, Masih Nahar has explained what it has been like to receive such a high honor since it is the first time that a personality from Spain has been awarded. The event continued with various cultural performances such as theater, music and dance by members of the Indian community.
