More than 150 people filled the sports courts at Joan Miró Park in Barcelona this Sunday.

The event was organized by the Consulate General of India in Barcelona and the Indian Culture Centre Foundation, with special collaboration from The Yoga Gallery, a leading school in the city. The consular representatives highlighted yoga’s role as “a bridge between cultures and a public health tool” and reminded everyone that June 21 was declared International Yoga Day by the UN in 2014, at India’s proposal.

The day ended with a performance by dancer Samyukta Chillara with a classical Bharatanatyam dance piece, which, after connecting the body with yoga, united the attendees with the spirit through her dance, reminding everyone that peace can also be danced.
