We celebrated Ratha Yatra—the Festival of Chariots!
Together with ISKCON Barcelona, the city’s oldest Hindu temple, we experienced a day filled with color and devotion.
Ratha Yatra commemorates the journey of Krishna and his siblings, Balabhadra and Subhadra. While in India three massive chariots are pulled, here in Barcelona we make our way through the streets of Ciutat Vella with a single chariot representing all three deities.
The procession concluded at Plaça Reial with singing, dancing, and great joy in honor of Krishna.
We also enjoyed classical Indian dance performances by Güngur Arts Barcelona and devotional kirtans led by our colleague Srivatsa Govinda Das and the Kirtan Bhakti Association.
