Makar Sankranthi, an amazing festival that marks the beginning of the harvest season in India, especially in the south. Today we were lucky enough to celebrate it at the Sagrat Cor Besòs school, together with the Telegu Association Barcelona. The event began with Bhogi Pallu, an important ritual that blesses children with a mixture of fruits, vegetables and other foods, as a form of protection and prosperity. The stage was then filled with dance with young artists, such as Samyucta Chillara, who offered a performance of Bharatanatyam dance with live music. The Dancing Ganesh dance group put an end to the performances with a wonderful display of South Indian dance, which filled the room with energy and color. The event concluded with recognition of several women of the entity for their great work in preserving the traditions of India in Catalonia, with the presence of the Consul General, Mr. Inbasekar Sundaramurthi, and Senator Robert Masih Nahar.

An unforgettable day!
