World Hindi Day is celebrated every January 10 to promote the Hindi language globally. This date commemorates the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur, India, in 1975. On this day, events are organized to promote Hindi culture and literature around the world and the Indian consulate in Barcelona has organized a Hindi recitation competition in which the youngest members of the Catalan Indian diaspora participated. The guests of honor at the event were Miss Núria Cabo, a member of the Women’s Commission of the Indian Culture Center Foundation, who read a text in Hindi that was a highlight of the event, and Senator Robert Masih Nahar, who gave the young participants the book “We learn Catalan from Hindi” published by the government of Catalonia in collaboration with the ICC Foundation.
